CONAN O'BRIEN
Conan eagerly awaiting the start of the chat
Host NBCmike:
Hi. Welcome to the NBC SuperNet Auditorium and the NBC HTTV chat room on the web.
Tonight, we have a special guest in our NY offices: CONAN O'BRIEN of NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien."
We'll be taking questions from both the MSN and NBC's site on the World Wide Web (http://www.nbc.com).
Conan is here to chat with you. So ask him anything that's on your mind! We encourage having F U N !
Before we begin this NBC Chat with all the fans out there in cyberspace, here's a few background notes on Conan's career thus far:
On April 26, 1993, Conan O'Brien was named host of NBC's newest late-night comedy/talk hour. Over the show's first two seasons, O'Brien has won praise from fans and critics alike for the program's offbeat sketches and alternative-music guests.
From 1981 to 1985, O'Brien attended Harvard University, where he majored in American history and literature. In his first semester there, he won a coveted position on the staff of the venerable and notorious Harvard Lampoon. In no time, the magazine became his number-one priority, and his enduring reputation as a comedy innovator was born.
In 1988 his talents had come to the attention of "Saturday Night Live," who hired O'Brien as a writer. In the fall of 1991 O'Brien signed on as a writer/producer for the Fox series "The Simpsons," and he later became the show's supervising producer.
This year marks O'Brien's third season of combining his talents as writer, performer and personality in NBC's Studio 6A in New York for "Late Night with Conan O'Brien."
Host NBCmike:
Well, enough of this...let's get chatting! Late Night's comic genius is here with us in the NBC SuperNet Auditorium. Welcome!
Late_Night_Conan:
Er, Hello everyone. Nice to see you all. Let us begin, shall we?
Host NBCmike:
All right let the questions stream in.
Host NBCmike:
MikeR: Thu, Apr 4, 9:00PM EDT (-0400 GMT)
Conan, will Dino and Rob be making more appearances now that they are working in New York again?
Late_Night_Conan:
Nice of you to notice. Yes they will. Robert has never stopped doing clutch Cargos.
Host NBCmike:
Triple_Crown:
Conan, how jilted were your show's writers when the O.J. trial ended?
Late_Night_Conan:
Well, we never did that much O.J. stuff. Not for moral reasons, we just couldn't think of anything.
Host NBCmike:
Enquiring minds want to know.. EAmir:
Does Conan know how to use a computer?
Late_Night_Conan:
NO. Conan is an idiot. But, there are plenty of people here in the room to show me how to work this thing.
Host NBCmike:
[By the way, Conan is typing his own answers in NY]
Host NBCmike:
Peter: Thu, Apr 4, 9:00PM EDT (-0400 GMT)
Conan, how can I get an internship on your show. I am a writer on the school humor paper at Berkeley, and NBC won't tell me how to get an internship directly with you.
Late_Night_Conan:
For the relatively small sum of $35,000, anyone can be an intern on our show. Actually, though, you can contact our producer Jeff Ross and he'll tell you how it can be done. Call him at the office, or at home at any hour. I'll supply those numbers for you.
Host NBCmike:
Copalis:
Conan do you have any plans on doing any more acting, any big summer movies
Host NBCmike:
[NBCmike thinks that Copalis is really Greg Kinnear!]
Late_Night_Conan:
I'm starring in a soft-core porno flick for a semi-reputable film company this summer. It's called "Hot and Heavy" and I'll be playing Dirk. Other than that, I'll stick with Late Night for now.
Host NBCmike:
from NBC.com, one of thing cuh-gillion questions flooding our chat page from cyberspace.... Nick: Thu, Apr 4, 9:02PM EDT (-0400 GMT)
Are you planning another book now that "If They Mated" is out?
Late_Night_Conan:
At some point, we'd like to do a more comprehensive book that includes more of our wierder comedy bits, but those books take a while and for now we're too busy thinking of crap to ask celebrities.
